SEAMAN, Althea (Joseph-Charles)
1938 - 2013
With profound sadness, Althea's family wishes to announce her passing on Sunday, September 22, 2013. She was 75. Loving wife to Richard Seaman. Beloved mom to Herbert, Heather, Hazel (Chris). Proud Nonna to Savannah and Xavier. Blessed Sister to Adelina Green, Amos Charles, their families and relatives who predeceased her: brother Alphonso Charles, Dad Alfred Charles, Mom Eutina Joseph. Stepsons Adona, Tony and their families. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and other staff at the Jewish General Hospital for their care and compassion as she struggled with many ailments over the years. A native of the Commonwealth of Dominica, this passionate community organizer, entrepreneur and Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal Recipient (2012) thrived in her adopted homeland of Montreal, Canada for nearly 55 years. She will be fondly remembered for her love, laughter, free spirit, ambition, determination, ingenuity, generosity and strength of character. She lived a full life with dignity and integrity. She will be greatly missed by so many. Always in our hearts. Visitation will take place at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, 514-685-3344 on Friday, October 4th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, October 5th from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service in the funeral home Chapel.
