It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louis Elm on December 4, 2014 in Ste. Anne-de- Bellevue. Beloved husband of Madeline. Loving father of David (Sherrill) and Robert (Wilma). Loving grandfather of Tyler, Ryan, Britta and Melanie. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Québec 514-685-3344 on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 as of 9:00 a.m., followed by the burial at Field of Honour Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.

I miss our conversations while playing cribbage Grandpa. There are so many unforgettable memories while visiting you and Grandma in Pointe Claire and our trips up to the Laurentians. I love you Grandpa, you always have and always will be a hero to me.

I have such wonderful memories of my dear Uncle Louis and the times I visited he and Aunt Madeline in their home with my parents. He was the best Uncle a girl could have. Rest in peace as you are reunited with your parents Carl and Anna Elm, and siblings Hans, Viola and Elsie in heaven.

Even though I did not know Louis personally, my late husband Grant Hewlett spoke of him with admiration. Grant worked at the Gazette and Louis was his best friend Stewart MacPhail's boss. Please accept my sincere condolences on my and Grant's behalf on the loss of a very special person.

It has been years since I last saw Uncle Louis. I think it was at my grandmother's garage sale on Wiseman Avenue. I still remember his piercing blue, blue eyes that were so attentive. He was a very patient and caring person.
