Gilbert GORDON Obituary
Gilbert Walker Gordon, known to family and friends as Gil, passed away peacefully at the Lachine General Hospital, February 27, 2015 at the age of 89. Gil was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and held several positions throughout the years. He is predeceased by his beloved wives Edna (nee Rye) of 61 years and Shirley (nee Brewer) of almost two years, his parents, one sister, and two brothers. Gil is survived by two sisters, Helen and Kathleen; one brother, Robin; his children, Ken (Penny), Cheryl (John) and Sandra (Alban) and his stepchildren, Barry (Anita), Glenda, Duke (Marjorie), Russell and Debbie as well as five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many step- grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Gil endeared himself to everyone he met and he will be lovingly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Gil's family invite you to attend a Legion Military Service and A Celebration of his Life on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 7771, rue Bouvier, LaSalle, Quebec H8N 2G6. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Gil's honour may be made to: THE POPPY FUND, c/o the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 212, 7771, rue Bouvier, LaSalle, Quebec H8N 2G6. I'll always remember my Uncle Gilbert, as being a very jovial gent. I have always been proud of having WWII Veterans as part of my family. With the passing of Uncle Gilbert, they are all gone now, however, they will never be forgotten!
Thank you for being a part of my life and being of service to help the lives of countless others.

A great person and humorist, Gil be missed by all of us that knew him over the years, and by those comrades you leave behind. You fought your battles with honour and is now a time for rest, farewell and peace on your journey.
