I just watched the documentary of your incredible life abd I have to say that I am so blessed by it.

The courage and strength you showed during one of the darkest periods of human history gives me hope that we can still rise above the current evils that plague us.

I wept when you and Lena seemed to have lost each other but rejoiced when you found a second chance to share your love.

It also made me happy to know you were not lonely and brokenhearted in all the years between and that you and Halina also shared a great love.

God bless your soul.

I just watched the documentary about your life, I was left speechless. I can't imagine going through the horrors that you all lived through. To still come out on the other side with so much compassion, love and goodness in your hearts when so many people showed you none. What a legacy. I have been blessed by your story, Your strength, courage and good will. This is everything the world needs now.. Just love! No matter what background we came from. Thank You

I finished watching the documentary last night. Thank you for sharing such an amazing story. My father was also born in 1921 and died in 2016, just like Max. Dad was not in a prison during WWII, but served as a pilot for the Army Air Corps during the war. I would to believe these 2 great men were connected.

I saw There's Many Like Us this summer of 2020. I absolutely was so touched by Max and Rena's story. Loved it! I was just checking to see how Max was doing and came upon his orbituary. I am heartbroken. I send my condolences to the family. I think about their story all the time. And shared it with my elderly parents and they enjoyed hearing about him. I am going to watch the movie again. Max you were truly a hero and I fell in Love with yours and Rena's story.

I just finished watching the movie made by his son, "There is many like us" and I was rather blown away. It depicted in real life what I know my grandparents and great parents lived and died from. It was a beautiful story about reality and certainly life and love. I wish sitting here at midnight in Las Vegas, NV, that I could share that story with so many, at this moment we are living a life that is divisive and simply living Max's life through the story gave me "goose pimples" Thank you for the memories. Dear Rena,
My students and I just viewed your grandson's film, There is Many Like Us. WE are all very sad to learn of the passing of your beloved soul mate, Max. We are very happy that you and Max were reunited and that you remained friends throughout most of your lives. I will show this every April in remembrance of your lives and the many others that did not survive.

We would love to meet you. If you ever want to come to KY, we would love to host you. Owensboro is an amazing little city.

Would you possibly e-mail me at my school so that my students can write to you as well?

We have had several Holocaust survivors speak here and I have met 2. I would love to host you and meet you. You make us laugh! Max is very funny!! We feel like we sort of know you now.

What a beautiful tribute from your grandson to you both, and now to the world.

God Bless You,
Wendy Worth

To his family and friends,
I have just learned of Max and Rena's story upon viewing their grandson's docudrama, " There is Many Like Us". Incredibly touching. I was very sad to hear of his passing when I looked to see 'what they are doing now'. Approaching the first Anniversary of his passing will be difficult....but his life is to be celebrated!!!!
What a fabulous love story!!!! ❤ Joanne Simpson, Toronto

My 14 year old daughters and I watched "There is Many Like Us" tonight. The recorded history is aamazing, and I hope it is watched a gazillion times over the next million years. The Love Story in the movie/documentary demonstrated for my youngest, adopted daughters, that trust, happiness, and love can still be had through and despite adversity and atrocities we can not imagine and hope to never see. May Max's legacy live on, as well as Rena and their story. (Tammy White-McIntyre,, San Antonio, Texas)
