It has been a few days since Mr. Hooper's homegoing celebration, and I'm still reflecting on the BIG man that he was... Benevolent: he gave kind words and laughter freely and often. Intelligent: he knew something about just about everything. Gregarious: If he didn't know you as one of his many friends, he could make you feel that he'd known you forever. He is well honored by the celebration on Saturday and the kind words and memorials stated here and elsewhere. He will be missed among our Northwest Middle School family.

I think back to the days when me and cedric played baseball for the Ranger in mooresville and i think back to my days at Fayettville State in the band when we would come to WSSU Cedric would always try to get me off a step or make me miss a note. Cedric rode my shutter bus on accassions and was a very quiet, but respectable young man. He said very little but his spirit radiated letting one know he was a blessed person of God. Cedric, we only got to know you for 2 weeks, as you had just started working with my son Tommy through the Lindley Agcy, but he was so thrilled that you were able to teach him how to use his computer and put music on it...you were a great inspiration, and he was thrilled to pieces....and Cedric even though you were a die-hard Dallas fan, I still liked you anyway...LOL....Tommy and I will surely miss you but know that we will think about you a lot and it was a great pleasure to have known you...our sympathies to the Hooper family....Cedric "your rock"!!!

I thank god for meeting a friend and student like Cedric. We enjoyed seeing his smiling face every time he came to WSSU Evening Week-End offices. Even when our days were going bad he will come by and bring laughter to office. We will miss you the WSSU Evening Week-End family.

My kids enjoyed Mr. Hooper when he worked at Gibson Elementary. He always clowned us for being from Ahoskie and whenever he saw us the first thing he would say is..when yall going to Ahoskie. He always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed. K.Staten

Mrs. Hooper and family I am so sorry for your lose. My son Timothy admired your husband and father greatly. I can remember every morning dropping Timothy off for school and always seeing his smile as big as could be when he would see Mr. Hooper hold up that T. My condolences to the family. Brother Hooper will be missed at the Forsyth County Missionary Union meetings. He was always so proud to be bring in the most youth to the meetings each month. His smile and love for kids was such a gift. May God continue to comfort the family.

Our love and prayers go out to you all. I worked with Cedric when he joind the Gibson family, and he made my son Jackson feel right at home when he moved to NW this past year. He always told me that "When I grow up I want to be like you" and I told him that I didn't deserve this praise. But he was just the type of person who made you feel good about yourself. My heart is very heavy at the loss of my good friend and brother!! From the Friday night Fiberglass Foolz parties at Rock's house before every game, to Bus #3 on the long road trips with the WSSU marching band... we had a ton of GREAT TIMES!! I'm so glad we had a chance to connect again at the last homecoming... I just never imagined that would be the last time I would ever see you.
