Cedric Hooper Obituary

Cedric Hooper WINSTON-SALEM Cedric Osmund Hooper completed his earthly assignment on Monday, June 20, 2011. He was born on Oct. 6, 1967, in Mooresville to the late Floyd Adams and the late Mildred Hooper. After graduating from Mooresville High School, he attended Winston-Salem State University and most recently graduated in May with a B.S. in Business. Cedric was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan, and had no problem in expressing just how much he loved his team. He was full of life, loved life, and lived his life as best as he could. Those who were blessed to be in his presence had the opportunity to share laughs, analyze sports, and engage in lengthy discussions about his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He also loved the Band at WSSU and participated by playing the tuba. He was one of the original members of the "Fiberglass Fools". Cedric was employed with the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools working at Northwest Middle School, Emmanuel Baptist Kemet Academy and Lindley Rehabilitation. He made a huge impact with the children he worked with. He was a teacher, mentor, coach, and friend to many with whom he interacted with. He was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and worked on various auxiliaries. His fondest and loving memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Tomeka Jackson-Hooper; his children, Christopher Hooper, Chance Olivia Wright, Bernard Flynt, III, and Al'Trevion Jackson; his sister, Lafreda Hooper; his grandmother, Annie Hooper; and many other relatives and friends. The celebration of life for Mr. Hooper will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. John Mendez officiating. The family visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Church. Interment will be held in Morrows Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mooresville, on Monday, June 27. To the Hooper Family,
It has been a few days since Mr. Hooper's homegoing celebration, and I'm still reflecting on the BIG man that he was... Benevolent: he gave kind words and laughter freely and often. Intelligent: he knew something about just about everything. Gregarious: If he didn't know you as one of his many friends, he could make you feel that he'd known you forever. He is well honored by the celebration on Saturday and the kind words and memorials stated here and elsewhere. He will be missed among our Northwest Middle School family.

My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time & Do know that God will give you the strength to understand that he chooses his best to come with Him for greater things in His kingdom. Cedric rode my shutter bus on accassions and was a very quiet, but respectable young man. He said very little but his spirit radiated letting one know he was a blessed person of God.
