Robert Sherman Conner, 60, of Rockwood, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 at Parkwest Hospital, Knoxville.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked many years in several of the surrounding coal mines of Petros, his nickname was 'Blue'. He loved just spending time with his wife Julie, his children and grandchildren and his beloved 3 legged Alaskan Husky, Rocky.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Leon and Hallie Harris Conner and stepmother, Eva Smith Young Conner; brothers, David and Bill Conner; sister, Wanda Hunter; mother and father-in-law, Dean and Doris Hardwick; and sister-in-law, Arlene Farr.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Julie Conner; daughter, Stacy Cox and husband Doug; son, Robby Conner and wife Jeanine; sisters, Angel Castle, Lou Dean Bradshaw and husband Jackie and Carolyn Basler; step-sisters, Loretta Champion and Lois Thompson; brothers-in-law, Danny Hunter, Danny Hardwick and wife Rynda and Steve Back and wife Loretta; sister in-law, Darlene Seiber; three grandchildren, Brianna Cox, Jessica and Charlie Conner; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family received friends Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with Bro. Lonnie Lowe officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at 1 p.m. in Butler Cemetery, Oliver Springs.

Julie and family,
Our deepest sympathy to you all. So sorry to hear about Robert. He was truly one of a kind. As Billy would say, "Oh Blue could put a pinch on ya". He has reached the others that wait on us above. May you find peace in knowing that Robert is not alone and has many friends with him. Much love to you all, he will be missed,
