Billy H. Coker, 81, passed away July 13, 2014.
Bill lived his entire life then died in the place he called 'home,' Coalfield, Tenn.ÊHe served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved all sports, especially baseball and was an enthusiastic fan of the Tennessee Vols and the Coalfield Yellow Jackets.
He dearly enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and his great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel Lee Coker; and mother-in-law, Frances Hammons West.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sherline Hammons Coker; daughter, Sherry Wilson and husband Rhett;Êson, William T. (Ted) Coker and wife Kate; grandchildren, Johnathan Lee Coker, Savannah Nicole Coker, Shawn and Tara Humphreys, Ashley Wilson and Adam Halstead and Scarlett Wilson; great-grandson, Hayden Turpen; sisters, Barbara Halburnt and husband JimÊand Beverly Parrott and husband Robert; brother, Barry Coker and wife Linda; special uncle, Alvin (Wimp) Coker; his constant companion, ÔPup'; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the old sanctuary at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs.ÊThe funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Bro. Garvan Walls officiating. Interment will follow in Estes Cemetery, Coalfield.
