Elmer Cleo Howard, age 95, of Deer Lodge, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at the Cookeville Hospital.

Elmer was a World War II veteran, and a lifetime sawmill operator was his profession. If you knew him you were one of the thousands who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Syrene Howard; father, Robert Howard; mother, Dora Howard; brothers, Bud Bishop, Charles Bishop, Ivan, Edison, Leroy (Bud) and Willis Howard; sister, Lorrine Ooten; sons, Wallace Wayne Howard, Stanley Ross Howard and Charles Howard.
Mr. Howard is survived by his sons, William Earnest Howard and Lester Paul and wife Mary; daughters, Virgina Oakley, Brenda Lou (Linda) Howard and Kathy and husband Darrel; brother, Harold Howard; sister, Bertie Adams; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great -great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Christine Horton.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Bill Durham officiating. Graveside service will be held Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. in High Point Cemetery, Deer Lodge.
