Phyllis Ann McCartt Clowers of Wartburg went home to be with the Lord at her home on May 7, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.
Phyllis was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother and a faithful friend. She was a member of Greenwood Freewill Baptist Church. She was also a dedicated volunteer for many years at Morgan-Scott Project. She enjoyed reading, bird watching and spending time with family and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Pleas and Annie McCartt; siblings, Jane, Sammy, Johnny, Emma, James, Robert, Sally (Robinson), L.A. and wife Kathryn, M.D. and wife Letta and Glen McCartt; mother-in-law, Geneva Clowers Armes; brothers-in-law, A.D. Kelly, Parley McCann, Ralph Fulks, Lynn Swint and Ralph Morgan.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Clifton Clowers Jr.; daughters, Crystal and husband Bobby Tompkins and Tina and husband Derrick Sexton; grandchildren, Jessie and Justin Tompkins, Jacob and wife Bethany and Lucas and Tisha Sexton; siblings, June Kelly, Betty Fulks, Ella and husband Billy Smith, P.J. and wife Carolyn McCartt, Sue and husband Kenneth Moore, Gladys Miller and Eva Swint; sisters-in-law, Barbara McCartt, Maggie Morgan and Kathy Bertram; brother-in-law, Micky Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Bro. Malcon Strong officiating. A graveside service will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 at noon in Lane Cemetery in Lancing.
