

Bryson Fredell LAWNDALE Mr. Bryson Gaither Fredell, 74, of Lawndale, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Valdese, after a period of declining health. Mr. Fredell was born Sept. 14, 1938, in Burke County, a son of the late Amos and Della "Deddie" Lail Fredell. He was a U.S.
Army Veteran of the
Korean Conflict and a member of the
VFW Post 1957 in Hickory. Bryson retired after spending over 30 years as a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jessie and D.A. Fredell; and four sisters, Sadie Brittian, Nellie Hildebran, Viola Beaver, and Dorothy Bumgarner. Surviving are his wife, Alice Winters Fredell, of the home; daughter, June Rector and husband, Christopher, of Morganton; and sister, Genevieve Brittian, of Connelly Springs. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Ashley Hinson, of Canton, Brian Rector, of Lawndale, and Megan Rector and fianc‚, Andrew Earwood, of Morganton; and a number of special nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with the Rev. Eldon Hindgardner officiating. Military Honors by the National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard, will follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.
