Derl Adams Obituary

Derl Adams MORGANTON Derl C. Adams, 80, of Morganton, died on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at his residence. Born in Henry County, Va. on June 2, 1931, he was the son of the late Dewey Ernest Adams and Ruby Irene McKinney Adams. Derl was of the Baptist Faith and retired from Drexel Furniture after 33 years. Derl is survived by his sons, Derl Gene Adams of Elk Park, Ricky Adams of Morganton, David Leonard Adams of Morganton, and Kenneth Dean Adams of Elk Park; a daughters, Dedra Adams Hoyle of Lenoir; a number of grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Derl was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Jean Bare Adams, and a son, Donald Adams. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the McKinney Family Cemetery in Elk Park with Rev. Doug Bare officiating. The family will receive friends at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Condolences may be made online at www. sossomanfuneralservice.com. NC 75341
