Henry Joseph Sparks MORGANTON Mr. Henry "Joey" Joseph Sparks, 47, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. Joey was born Aug. 3, 1965, in McDowell County, a son of the late Bobby Lee Sparks and Joyce Eve Bartlett Lane. He was employed by Stephen Craig Transportation of Hickory as a truck driver. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by Jack Hally-burton, his father; one nephew, Stephan Vance South; and grandparents, Victoria and Dewey Bartlett. In addition to his mother, survivors include his children, Elizabeth Sparks and fianc‚, Kelly Hildebran, of Mor-ganton, Victoria Sparks, and Joshua Sparks, both of Morganton; one grandchild, Whissper Peace Evenni Shambre, of Morganton; the mother of his children, Juliann Groome Sparks; and the mother of his son, Sandra Williams. Also surviving are five sisters, Shirley Autry, of Georgia, Rosey St. John, of Georgia, Cynthia Powell, of Morganton, Lois Tipton, of Morganton, and Barbara Victoria Sparks, of Morganton; one brother, Edward Hallyburton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Friday, Jan. 25, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at 5 p.m. at Henry's home located off of Harland Trail, Morganton.
