Keith Obie Buff MORGANTON Keith Obie Buff, 48 of Morganton, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, N.C., following a brief illness. Born Dec. 5, 1964, in Burke County, N.C., he was a son of Virginia Louise Swink Buff, of Morganton, and the late, John Obie Buff. Keith never knew a stranger, and was a friend to everyone he met. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved working with his animals. He was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Swannie Buff. In addition to his mother, Mr. Buff is survived by his wife of 11 years, Jacqueline "De Shane" Johnson Buff, of the home; children, Brandon Keith Buff and Sha Buff, both of Morganton; a grandson, John Brentley Carter; brothers, Sherman Buff and wife, Michelle, and Kenneth Buff and wife, Sherry, all of Morganton; and a number of nephews and nieces. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 28, at Faith Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Ellington officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
