Margaret Propst MORGANTON Margaret Taylor Propst, 83, of Morganton, N.C., died Saturday, April 30, 2011 while surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Burke County, N.C. on Feb. 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John Marshall Wilson and Maggie Jane Crawley Wilson Causby. Margaret was an active member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church. She was a member of the Christian Women and went on many church trips. She worked at several local textile mills and looked after children for many years. Mrs. Propst is survived by her sons, Danny Taylor and wife, Mary, of Forest City, N.C. and Tommy Taylor and wife, Ren‚, of Morganton; a daughter, Hilda Adkins and husband, Danny, of Morganton; a step-daughter, Jackie Tanker of Whittier, Calif.; a step-son, Gary Van Wagner of Long Beach, Calif.; grandchildren, Gary Adkins, Melissa Ford, Michelle McKeel, Patrick McMahon, Casey McMa-hon, Ashley Taylor, Candace Wellman, Jason Taylor, Hope Voiers, Christopher Taylor, and Heather Taylor; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Ray Wilson. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph R. Taylor; her second husband, Jack Propst; a son, Johnny "Bobby" Taylor; and sisters, Earlene Burgin and Ruby Walker. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Miss-ionary Ridge Baptist Church with the Revs. Donald Lovelace and Al Tinnen officiating. The family will receive friends at the church's Life Enrichment Center from 2:30 until 4 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
