Betty Piper Obituary

AMHERST - Betty Piper, age 96 and a long-time resident of Amherst, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
Betty was born June 8, 1917, in Wyano, Pennsylvania to the late Matthew and Lillian (Sethman) Omler. She was been an Amherst resident since 1953. Betty was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Amherst. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crafts, baking, traveling, and motorhome camping.
She is a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1662 Ladies Auxiliary, Amherst.
Betty is survived by seven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Raymond W. Piper (1990); daughters Margaret Klenz (1966) and Delores Knapp (2007); and three grandsons, James G. Miller, Roger D. Miller, and Walter D. Miller.
Family will receive friends Thursday, 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. Rev. Gary Richard will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
