Schroth, John Will*  
John Will Schroth, age 53, Superintendent of Oberlin City Schools passed away peacefully at his home Thursday April 23, 2015. Born in Norfolk, VA, he was raised in Columbia Township where he lived most of his life until moving to Oberlin in 2013. John graduated in 1980 from Columbia High School, where he met his Sweetheart, Rebecca whom he later married on sweetest day in 1984. He went on to further his education receiving his Master of Art in Instructional Technology from Kent State University and a Master of Education and Superintendent Licensure from Ashland University. Mr. Schroth has served with Oberlin City Schools since 2007, first as Director of Operations/Assistant Superintendent and then as Superintendent since 2011. He had previously taught with Chagrin Falls Village Schools where he had been named Teacher of the year in 1994-95, he went on to serve as Director of Technology for Strongsville City Schools. He was also President of Spencer Management, Inc. in Maple Heights from 1988-2002. John enjoyed being with his family, fishing and boating, camping in Pennsylvania, and working on his vintage cars. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Rebecca (nee Miller), daughter, Hanna (fiancée Thomas Horvath Jr.) of Rocky River, sons, Spencer, Christopher and Cameron all at home, parents, Edward and Joyce Schroth of Columbia Township, brothers, Edward (Tammy) Schroth of Olmsted Falls, Lawrence (Margaret) Schroth of Palatine, Illinois, two nieces and one nephew. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Funeral Service will take place 7:00 PM Monday at The First Church in Oberlin, United Church of Christ, 106 North Main Street. Rev. David Hill, Pastor will officiate. Private burial will take place in Columbia Cemetery, West River Road, Columbia Township. Sklarek Sr., John F.* - Lorain  
LORAIN - John F. Sklarek Sr., 76, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, OH after a lengthy illness. He was born on October 10, 1938 in Lorain, OH. John graduated from Lorain High School and on August 27, 1960 he married his beloved Patricia "Patsy" (nee: Beko) and they raised three sons together. He entered into the United States Army in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1963. He was the founder and owner of J&J Door in Huron, OH for 25 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. Peter's Church in Lorain. He loved fishing, shooting his guns, woodworking and going to Zeller's Beach in Marblehead, OH where he was known as "the mayor of Zeller's Beach". He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years of marriage, Patricia A. Sklarek; sons, John F. (Christine) Sklarek Jr., Michael J. (Kathy) Sklarek and Mark J. (Christine) Sklarek; sister, Jean (Don) Warner; brother, Louis (Arlene) Sklarek; grandchildren, Jessica and Nicholas: Anthony (Lindsay), Adam and Matthew: and Amanda; great grandchildren, Hailey and Zoey; and loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lottie Sklarek; sisters, Tessie (Dick) Turton and Fran (Don) Nawicki; brother, and Joe Sklarek. The family will receive friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain (440) 244-1961 on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 4:00 -8:00 PM. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Peter's Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, Fr. Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, officiating. Stanley, Frances "Fran" (Cieslak)* - Lorain  
LORAIN- Frances A. (nee: Cieslak) Stanley, 78, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015, at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland. She was born on December 3, 1936, in Blawnox, Pa., and moved to Lorain as a young child, graduating from Lorain High School, Class of 1954. Following graduation, she worked at Sun Finance Co. where she met her husband, Thomas and they married in 1958. Fran and her husband, Thomas started Lorain County Fence and later Stanley Fence where she was office manager until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua in Lorain and Fran enjoyed traveling, sight-seeing and she loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Jaqui Stanley, Christine Stanley and Sue (Jeff) Deering; brothers, John (Joann) Cieslak, Edward (Mary Ann) Cieslak and Richard (Denise) Cieslak; granddaughters, Fallon Farkas and Ashley Carter; great-granddaughter, Addalynn Carter; and beloved best friend, Norma Crnco. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas W. Sucre, Renee* - Avon  
Renee Sucre, age 58, entered into rest Wednesday, April 22, 2015. She was born on Oct. 2, 1956, in Cleveland. She was employed as a hairdresser for 30 years. She was a loving person, a friend to everyone, who loved and rescued many animals. She is survived by her daughter, Sadie Zegarac; brothers, Paul (Karen) Sucre, Harry Phyillaiere, and Tarry (Margaret) Phyillaiere; and sister, Bonnie (Bill) Scott; aunt to several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Sucre and Ida Mae Phyillaiere (nee Trout). The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27, 2015, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon. Parlor service Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Westpark Cemetery.

Sells, Jewel D.* - Amherst  
SHEFFIELD LAKE - Jewel D. Sells, age 83, of Sheffield Lake, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Golden Acres Nursing Home. She was born on Nov. 10, 1931, in Monticello, Kentucky. She came to the Lorain area in the early 1950's. Jewel has been a resident of Sheffield Lake for 45 years. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Cathy), of Pinegrove, KY., Donald Jr., of Sheffield Lake, and Jeffrey (Barbara), Raeford, N.C.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lesty (Harold) Reaser, of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sells, Sr., on November 2, 2014; three brothers and one sister. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd., Avon, where burial will be following the services. Spiegelberg, Nancy Carol*  
AMHERST – Nancy Carol Spiegelberg (nee: Springer), 79 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Rae Ann Suburban Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Nancy was born November 23, 1935, in Amherst and was a long- time resident of Amherst as well. She graduated from Amherst High School with the class of 1953. Nancy went on for further education graduating from St. Luke School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. She served as a nurse and an author for most of her life. Nancy was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Amherst, Ohio. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Lauren (Michael) Keatley of Blue Bell, Penn, William J. Spiegelberg of Chicago, Ill., Louis M. (Amy) Spiegelberg of Amherst; six grandchildren; and two sisters Muriel R. Hall of Parma Heights and Joyce Gates of Amherst. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Clayton and Mildred Springer (nee: Holzhauer). Friends may call Wednesday, April 22, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Michael Plog and Rev. Arnold Fleagle will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Ohio.
