Thompson, Charlotte Polke* - Lorain  
LORAIN – Charlotte Polke Thompson, 94, passed away Wednesday morning, January 21, 2015 at her home in Lorain, Ohio. Charlotte was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 26, 1920 to the late Isham Dinkin and Olivia Julia Polke and educated in the Duval County school system. She married the late Richard Z. Thompson lived most of her life and raised her daughters in Cleveland, Ohio, lived 20 years in Maple Heights Ohio and her final 7 years in Lorain County. For more than 60 years, she enjoyed her career as a self-employed domestic engineer serving clients of multi-generations of families. An outstanding person of character, wit, insight and love, Charlotte will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws: Nannette Haygood of Maple Heights, Ohio Gera Christian of District Heights, Maryland; Charita (Michael) Erwin of Cleveland Heights, Ohio Ilka (Richard) Brown of Lorain, Ohio; grandchildren Charron Smith of California, Gregory Neil (Olga) Haygood of Washington, D.C., Cameron Smith of Columbus, Ohio; and Shannon Christian of New York, New York. Great- grandchildren Seneca Smith of California, Luka Haygood of Washington, D.C.; siblings Josephine Barbery, Richard Polke, Bessie (Thomas) Bartley, and Priscilla Kellam of Jacksonville, Florida; many nieces and nephews of Jacksonville, Florida and throughout the world. Charlotte was pre-deceased by her parents, husband, Richard Zelnar Thompson, her daughter, Zeba Ann Thompson, her grandson, Seth Thompson Brown, siblings Joseph, Louis, Phillip, Jerry Polke, and Bettye Kellam. Services Monday, January 26, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4341 East 131st Street, Garfield Heights, OH 44105, Reverend Phillip Bernier officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial service. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland. Tillman, Theresa* - Lorain  
LORAIN – Theresa Tillman, 62, of Lorain entered into eternal rest on Jan 18, 2015 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, Ohio following a lengthy illness. She was born on June 29, 1952 to the union of Willie Tillman Sr. and Margaret Tillman. She was the oldest girl and the second oldest child of seven children to this union. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1971. She received her certification for STNA from the Ohio Department of Health on December 3, 1997. She was formerly employed by Lorain City Schools, Head Start of Lorain, Wesleyan Village of Elyria, Ohio, Friendship Village Health Center of Columbus, Ohio and Twin Brook Nursing and Rehab Center of Louisville, Kentucky She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, former member of The Chapel of the Redeemer of Lorain, Ohio and Ebenezer Baptist Church of York, Alabama. Theresa was a volunteer at the Salvation Army Thrift Store on Broadway, Lorain Ohio. Her hobbies were shopping, sewing, baking and traveling. Theresa was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Latoya Tillman of Columbus, Ohio, Cassandra Holloway of Columbus, Ohio, Shavonda Gatewood (Nicholas) of Lorain, Ohio; One honorary daughter/niece Shamika Smith (Shawn) of Lorain, Ohio; Two sisters: Diane Law (Ronnie) of York, Alabama, Anita Tillman-Johnson of Elyria, Ohio; One sister-in-law: Izella Tillman of York, Alabama; Three brothers: Johnny Patrick (Jerry) of York, Alabama, Donzer Tillman of Lorain, Ohio, Bobbie Tillman of Columbus, Ohio; 7 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Willie Tillman, Sr.; Mother Margaret Tillman; brother Willie Tillman Jr.; Maternal grandfather Johnny Patrick; Maternal grandmother Corene Ward; Paternal grandfather Curlie Tillman; Paternal grandmother Mattie Tillman. The celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 24, 2015 at Friendship Baptist Church 2160 Reeves Ave, Lorain, Ohio 44052. The viewing will be from 10am-12pm and the service following at 12pm. Pastor John R. Jackson will officiate the service and Pastor Ezra Tillman Jr. will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, Ohio. Funeral services entrusted to: Brown-Robinson Funeral Home 2652 Broadway, Lorain Oh 44052.
