Linn, Ronald W*  
AMHERST – Ronald Linn, age 66, of Amherst, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 in Lorain following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born on July 3, 1949 in Norwalk, he graduated from Marion L. Steele High School in 1967. He served in the Army National Guard for 2 years. For over 40 years, Ron worked as an engineer at Invacare, retiring in 2011. An avid runner, Ron ran several marathons throughout the years, including the Boston Marathon. He also enjoyed bicycling, motorcycles, Mustangs and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Lorain Wheelman and Amherst Eagles. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet (nee Damon); his son, Corey (Jennifer), of South Amherst; his daughter, Ashley, of Amherst; his grandchildren, Virginia "Gia" Curtan, Hannah Linn, Devin Linn and Audrey Gula; his mother, Eleanor (nee Wilson), of Amherst; his sisters, Debbie (Larry) Abraham and Dawn (Tony) Karnik, both of Lorain; and his brother, Rod (Amy), of LaGrange. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Harold; his sister, Diane and his brother, Daniel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst. Lundberg, Arlene M* - Avon Lake  
AVON LAKE-Arlene M. Lundberg (nee Horwedel), 91 a lifelong resident of Avon Lake, passed away, Monday, July 27, 2015 at the Northridge Retirement Community, North Ridgeville. She was born February 15, 1924 in Lakewood. Mrs. Lundberg was a 1941 graduate of Avon Lake High School and continued her education at the at the Case School of Applied Sciences earning a degree in Drafting. She was a member of St. Joseph Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed tenting to her garden. Arlene is survived by children Joyce Fjeldstad (Anders) of Mentor, Judith Houdeshell (Danny) of Avon Lake and Roy Lundberg (Cindy) of North Ridgeville. Other survivors include five grandchildren Erin Fjeldstad, Scott Houdeshell (Rhonda), Amy Houdeshell, Jeff Houdeshell (Terri) and Renee Lundberg and three great grandchildren Devin, Dominic and Taylor. She is also survived by siblings Vivian Rogers, Beverly Jaroscak, Norma Huber, Neal Horwedel and Thomas Horwedel. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy in 2010 and grandson Kevin Houdeshell in 2014. Friends may call at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Rd., Avon Lake from 10:00am to 11:00am, Friday, July 31, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am. Fr. Ron Wearsch of the church will officiate. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Park Cemetery, Avon. Memorial contributions may be forwarded to the Diabetic Partnership of Cleveland 3601 S. Majkut, Debra Denise (Peters)* - Amherst  
Debra Denise Majkut AMHERST TWP-Debra Denise Majkut (nee: Peters), 34 years of age, and a resident of Amherst Township, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at her home following a sudden accident. She was born March 6, 1981 in Lorain, Ohio. Debra was a graduate from Southview High School with the class of 2000. She had made her home in Amherst Township for the last six years. Debra graduated from Remington College as the Valedictorian of her class. Debra was a loving wife and mother who was dedicated to her family and loved being a homemaker. She was known as a very giving and loving person. Her family was her life and she invested in the lives of her niece Natalie Gracia and nephews Damian, Isaiah, Xavier and Benjamin Thompson III. Debra was employed as a medical assistant at Dr. Littman Office in North Olmsted. Survivors include her husband of ten years James A. Majkut; her sons Jacob and Jaxon Majkut both at home; her mother Penny Hotsinpiller (Dennis) of Lorain; her father Ronald Peters of Amherst; her sisters Renee Garcia (Nathaniel) of Lorain; and Kristina Peters (Benjamin) Thompson of Elyria; her mother in law Debra Cruz (Dave); her father in law Richard Majkut; her paternal Aunt Susan Wilson, paternal Uncle Jerome Majkut all of Lorain; her maternal uncles Brian Peters of Tennessee and Gary Peters (Tammy) of Illinois; her great great grandmothers Myria Maine of Oberlin and Eleanor Majkut of Lorain. Friends may call Sunday, Aug 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. McCourt, Irene*  
AMHERST - Irene (nee Bomba) McCourt, 93, of Amherst, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at her home after a short illness. She was born in Lakewood on June 29, 1922, to the late Joseph and Susanna (nee Stirbrich) Bomba. An Amherst resident since 1962, she was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst. She enjoyed bridge, golf and spending time with her family. Irene is survived by her loving children, Bill (Pam) McCourt of Vermilion, Jim (Chris) McCourt of Amherst, Kathy McCourt Thomas of Avon Lake, Marlene (Doug) Sanker of Rocky River, Kim (Jeff) Banks of Avon Lake; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ruth Krupp of Yardley, Pennsylvania. Irene was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, James E. McCourt (1985); sisters, Ann Donnely, Margaret Evanko; brothers, Andrew, Joseph and Paul Bomba. The family wants to extend a special thanks to Linda Sees for her care and support over the past few years. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 4 to 8 p.m. and 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Adamson of St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. Mendoza, Ruben* - Lorain  
Ruben Mendoza, 47, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 17, 2015. He was born July 9, 1968, in Lorain. Ruben graduated from Southview High School in 1987. He was proud of his service in the US Navy and was honorably discharged. Ruben worked as a machinist for Joy Global in Solon for 14 years. His hobby was his Bee Farm, which he would harvest honey every year and share it with family and friends. Ruben was loved by all and will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Roberto Mendoza; and his thirteen brothers and sisters, Rachael Berry, Raul (Patty) Mendoza, Rosa Mendoza, Roberto Mendoza Jr., Elizabeth Mendoza of Amherst, Ricardo (Donna) Mendoza, Rogelio (Michelle) Mendoza of Salisbury, N.C., Esther (Joe) Bailey of Copperas Cove, Texas, Estela Mendoza of Winterhaven, Fla., Evangelina (Roy) Johnson Amherst, Elva Mendoza, Rene (Jennifer) Mendoza, Rebecca (Mike) Arena of Vermilion; and many nephews and nieces. Ruben is now at peace with his mother, Ernestina "Tina" (née Ureste) Mendoza, in 2012; and nephew, Valentino R. Mendoza, in 2009. Private funeral services were held.
