Maruschak, Dorothy M. "Dottie" (Baker)* - Lorain  
SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP - Dorothy M. "Dottie" Maruschak (nee Baker), 69, of Sheffield Township, died Tuesday May 17, 2016. She was born October 13, 1946 in Shenandoah, Virginia and had resided in Sheffield Township since 1976 moving from Lorain. Dottie graduated from Lorain High School in 1964. She worked as an investigator for the Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) before retiring. Prior to that, she worked in the trust department at Central Trust bank. Dottie was a member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir. Dottie enjoyed crossword puzzles, Suduko puzzles and crocheting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her husband Tom and her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 32 years Thomas Maruschak; son Scott (Lori) Thompson; stepsons: William Maruschak and David (Karen) Lunsford; grandchildren: Monica, Stephen, Lorna, Diana, Brenda, Katrina, Clara & Hanna Thompson, Allan and Christopher Maruschak, Tommy Good, Emily Lunsford and Cassie Huizar; sisters: Glenna Cheadle and Alpha Moser (Earl) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Maruschak in 2011 and parents Harry & Arbutus Baker (nee Dellinger). The family will receive friends Thursday May 26, 2016 from 4:00 pm until the time of memorial services at 6:00 pm at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Chuck Boals, chaplain of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church, will officiate. Private burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain. Online condolences can be made at www.gluvna.net

McGinnis, Marlaina E*  
AMHERST – Marlaina E. McGinnis, age 24 and a resident of the Amherst and Lorain area, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, from a heroin overdose. Survivors include her three children, Lola, Lilly, and Liam, mother and step-father Michelle and James Kitchen of Amherst, father and step-mother Mark and Becky McGinnis Sr. of Sheffield Village, brothers Mark McGinnis II of Lorain and Matthew (Kristine) McGinnis of Plymouth, Ohio, sister Kayla Kitchen of Lorain, maternal grandmother Toni Smith of California, paternal grandfather Ray B. McGinnis Sr. of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Stephen R. Smith Sr., and her paternal grandmother Sandra L. (nee Lanning) McGinnis. Family will receive friends Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. There will be a 7:30 p.m. memorial service at the funeral home. Pastor Tim Holt of A Fresh Wind Church will officiate. In Marlaina's memory, memorials may be made at any branch of Key Bank or may be made at the funeral home.

Moralez, Manuela (Trevino)* - Lorain  
Manuela Moralez (née Trevino), 98, of Elyria, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 in her home following a lengthy illness. She was born August 4, 1917 in Poth, Texas. Her family were farm workers in Minnesota before coming to Lorain in 1942. She made Elyria her home in 1960. Manuela and her husband José owned and operated El Toro Carry Out restaurant in Lorain. Manuela continued in food service by receiving her Food Service Certificate. She was a supervisor for Meals on Wheels, Lorain and the kitchen of the Americana Inn, Elyria. Manuela was an active member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She liked to sew, crochet, garden and preserve her fruit and vegetables. She enjoyed fiestas and traveling the country. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Jesse (Terry) Moralez of Bentonville, Arkansas, Pablo (Elvira) and David Moralez both of Lorain, Lupe (Martina) Moralez of Colorado Springs, Joey (Debbie) Moralez, Jr. of Vermilion and Alex Moralez of Colorado; daughters, Margarita Whatley and Jozie Moralez both of Elyria, Manuela Casteel of Lorain, Anita (Daniel) Garcia of San Antonio, Texas and Mary Lou Gordon of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Manuela was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, José Moralez in 2004; parents, Callatano and Maria (née Valle) Trevino; son, Pablito Moralez; daughter, Margarita Moralez; brothers, José Maria and Raymond Trevino and a sister, Jessie Peña. Her family will receive friends Tuesday, May 24 at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain from 8:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Reverend Willian A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. Her family suggests memorial contributions to Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd. #270, Valley View, Ohio 44125 Funeral arrangements are by Richard J.
