Alex Selestak(1925-2014)

AVON - Alex Selestak, 88, of Avon, passed away unexpectedly at the Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake on Thursday, January 30, 2014.
Alex was born August 6, 1925, in Monessen, PA, and had lived in Avon since 1953.
Alex served our country proudly as a member of the United States Navy, stationed in the Pacific Theatre mostly aboard ship from 1943 to 1946.
He worked for 30 years at Osborn Manufacturing in Cleveland, beginning his career as a machinist and working his way through the ranks to draftsman, then with the planning department and retiring as a purchasing agent.
Alex attended the former Fen Business College. He was a member of the Avon Athletic Boosters and an avid golfer belonging to the Avon Golf League. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on projects around the house.
Alex is survived by his son, David (Annette) of Avon; grandchildren, Bryan of Fairview Park and Loren of Avon; and brother, John of Monessen.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Palmira "Pam" (nee Gorni); son, Paul; sisters, Anne Morrow and Mary Capolino; and brothers, Steven and Michael.
All services will be private.
Arrangements are by the Busch Funeral Home, Avon, 440-9370-6175, with burial at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
