Andrew Frank Norfus(1929 - 2013)

Andrew Frank Norfus LORAIN — Deacon Andrew Frank Norfus, 83, of Lorain, passed away on April 7, 2013 at Wesleyan Village Nursing Home in Elyria.
He was born in Blakely, Georgia to Lonnie and Rachel on November 25, 1929. He served in the U.S. Army and later moved to Lorain OH in 1954. He was employed by U.S. Steel for 18 years and Lorain City Schools as a crossing guard. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for over 60 years, where served as a deacon and sang in the church choir. He enjoyed all sports, but specifically baseball in which he was a big Cleveland Indian fan. “Mr. Frank,” as he was affectionately called by friends, was always willing to help a person, whether it was to provide a ride or give a helping hand. It was hard for him to say ‘no.'
Andrew is survived by his sons, Randy O Norfus of Cleveland, Allan (Carla) Norfus and Arturo “Toby” Norfus, both of Lorain, and Kenny Norfus of Cleveland; daughters, Doris Jean Teart of Las Vegas NV and Twila (Michael) Walton of Rancho Cucamonga CA; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Doris L Norfus (nee Graham); a son, Larry J Norfus; parents, Lonnie and Rachel Norfus; and brothers and sisters, Clayton W Flowers, Pearlie N Flowers, Charlie L Flowers, Cora B Flowers, Melvina Norfus, Lonnie Ruth Norfus, and Johnny R Norfus.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 from 7-9pm at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11am at Friendship Baptist Church, 2160 Reeves Ave., Lorain OH 44052. Pastor Robert Marbury of New Hope Baptist Church is officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst.
