Arthur B. "Archie" Csutoras
AMHERST TWP. - Arthur B. "Archie" Csutoras, age 80, of Amherst Township, and formerly of Lorain, passed away Wednesday February 20, 2013. He was born in Lorain, Ohio on August 29, 1932 and had been a resident Amherst Township for the past six years moving from Lorain.
Archie was a veteran of the United States Army
where he fulfilled duty assignments as a Corporal attached to the 5th Infantry Division, 5th Recon Company during the Korean Conflict
. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with four Bronze Stars
as well as the United Nations Service Medal. He was a Life Member of VFW
Post # 451 as well as a member of Amvets Post 47 both in Lorain .
Mr. Csutoras was employed as a Lead Set-up Man for the Nelson Stud Welding Division of TRW. He served the company from 1952 until the time of his retirement in 1999; his forty-seven years of service to the company currently make him the longest working employee in the company's history.
In his free time Archie liked to fish, hunt, camp, and bowl. He also possessed a love for food and enjoyed eating out and sampling the menus at area restaurants.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Joan P. Csutoras (nee Frey), by sons Jeff of Sheffield Township and William "Bill" residing in Amherst, by daughter Cynthia "Cindy" Cordy and son-in-law Ron residing in Amherst Township along with daughter Patricia "Pat" Davis and son-in-law Edward "Ed" of Wellington. He also leaves four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His best friend and pet Bichon Frise, named Betzy, also survives.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Susan C. Csutoras, by great grandsons Nathaniel and James Porinchok, by his father Arthur W. Csutoras, by his mother Irma Csutoras-Springowski (nee Zan), and by his sister Helene Butler.
Visitation will be Sunday February 24th from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Reverend Troy Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted by the Department of the Army assisted by VFW Post # 451 and American Legion Post # 30 both of Lorain .
