LORAIN – Diane Kathleen Alford (nee: Harris), 66 years of age, and a resident of Galloway, passed away June 6, 2011 at her son's home.
She was born May 8, 1945 in Amherst, Ohio. Diane was raised and had made her home in Amherst and attended Marion L. Steel. She had recently moved to Galloway and had resided with her son for the last thirteen years. Diane was employed as a painter and eventually a driver for Crown Steel of Lorain for twenty years before retiring in 1988. She was very social and loved spending time with her community of friends and family. Diane enjoyed traveling to see her grandchildren and camping.
Survivors include her sons Ronnie Alford and his wife Kimberly of Missouri City, Texas, Brian Alford and his wife Erin of Port Washington, Ohio; Robert Alford and his partner Steve of Galloway; her grandchildren Brody, Moss, Alaina and Brianna; her brothers George Harris, Thomas Harris, and John Noles all of Lorain, Robert Noles of Carrollton, Georgia; her sisters Judy Lengyel and Patricia Heinzerling both of Lorain, Norma Kelley of Galloway.
She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-nine years Bobby Ray Alford on April 19, 2000; her brothers Bill and Raymond Harris; and by her parents George and Dorothea Harris Noles (nee: Brucker); and her step-father John Noles, Sr.
Friends may call Thursday, June 9, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
