Dolores M. "Babe" Moran

DOLORES M. "Babe" MORAN (nee Haas), age 89, passed away on February 19, 2014.
Beloved wife of the late Edward P. "Wimpy" Moran; loving mother of Christine Gates (John, deceased), Martin (Machiko), Mark (Holly), Edward (Caralyn) and Lorrie Bruce (Lindsey). Devoted grandmother of Erin, Casie (Craig, deceased), Tongil, Brian (Stephanie), Tiffanie, Malarie, Jackie, Jessie, Shawn, Ed, Amanda, Vicky and Kelly; great-grandmother of Mark and Nathan. Cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Ella (nee Beran) Haas; dearest sister of the late Dorothy, Marie ("Mickey") and Joseph and dear aunt and friend of many.
Dolores was born in Pittsburgh, PA, grew up in the West Park neighborhood of Cleveland, graduated from John Marshall High School, obtained a private pilot's license, served her country in the US Army Air Corp, and attended Fenn College, Cleveland.
Dolores has resided in Avon Lake since 1956 where she has been a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and past president of the parish Legion of Mary. She enjoyed playing golf, volunteered her time with Birthright of Lorain County and Meals on Wheels, and she cherished every minute spent with her grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake on Sunday, February 23rd from 2-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake at 10am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.
The Moran Family would like to thank the staffs at the Westlake Village Skilled Nursing Center, St. John West Shore Hospital and the Ames Family Hospice House for the exceptional and compassionate care given to their Mother.
