Dreyfus "Pete" Ranson Jr.

LORAIN - Dreyfus "Pete" Ranson Jr., 84, of Lorain, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 8, 2013.
He retired from US Steel after working 38 years and was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Lorain, where he was a former church trustee, a founding member of the male chorus, in which he had served as president and vice president, past president of the Gospel Chorus, and vice president of the Inspirational Chorus. He also loved gardening, baseball and watching westerns.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Alvernon and Mark, and daughters, Arlene, Glenda, Diane and Patricia, all of Toledo OH; spiritual brother, Norman Bohannon and spiritual sister, Cora Anderson; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Dreyfus was preceded in death by his wife, Delois (Baker) Ranson; children, Dennis, Doris and Eugene; his parents, Dreyfus and Ardella Ranson Sr.; and brother, Johnny.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., all at Friendship Baptist Church, 2160 Reeves Ave., Lorain; Pastor John R. Jackson is officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
