VERMILION - Edna Edmondson (nee Hacket), 89, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain.
Edna was born December 18, 1923 in Fitchville, Ohio and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 70 years.
In earlier years Edna had worked for the former Basic Food Materials as a lab technician retiring in 2002.
She was a member of Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, where she had been active with the church choir.
She is survived by her daughters, Estrella Root of Santa Fe, N.M., and Nancy (Bill) Hlavin of Lakeville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chis Tung) Hlavin, Marie Hlavin, Erica Martin, and Kishi Bear; great grandchildren, Samuel Hlavin, Emma Weekley, and Lucas and Isaac Tung.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold on December 29, 2012, and parents George and Emma (nee Goldsmith) Hackett.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 18th from 5-8 P.M. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion. Funeral services will be held Thursday at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. The Reverend Nick Cacciatore will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
