Ethel O. Jahnsz
LORAIN – Ethel O. Jahnsz (nee Williams), age 88, of Lorain, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph.
She was born on October 21, 1925 in Weirton, West Virginia and had lived in Lorain for much of her life. She was a 1944 graduate of Lorain High School and a member of Tower Baptist Church. Ethel enjoyed ceramics, making dolls, and traveling, as well as being a Girl Scout Leader. And of course, she always cherished her time spent with her family.
Ethel is survived by her sons; Gregory A. (Nin) Heinzerling, of St. Louis, MO, and Jeff (Mary Chris) Jahnsz, of Grafton, her daughters; Pat L. Swagger, Mari (Eugene) Mason, and Debra (Michael) Murphy, all of Lorain, Nancy A. (Leonard) Gill, of Vermilion., and Penny S. (Gary) Duke, of Tampa, FL, 19 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Werner "A.J." Jahnsz, in 2005, a son, Theodore Heinzerling, a brother, William J. Williams, Jr., and her parents; William J., Sr. and Mary (nee Hilko) Williams.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 4-8 pm, in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, where services will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 am. The Rev. Gary Dorsey, Pastor of Tower Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
