Harold Edmondson, 93, of Vermilion, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain after a lengthy illness.
Harold was born March 5, 1919 in Cleveland, OH and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 67 years.
He was a veteran of the US Army
Air Corp. serving during WWII
Harold worked for Smith Handle Co., Vermilion and Nordson, Amherst for 19 years.
He was a member of Vermilion Evangelical & Reformed Church, Vermilion and was a 50 year member of the Grange. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, and country music.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Edna (nee Hackett) Edmondson of Vermilion; daughters, Estrella Root of Santa Fe, NM and Nancy (Bill) Hlavin of Lakeville; granddaughters, Jennifer (Chris Tung) Hlavin, Marie Hlavin, Erica Martin, and Kishi Bear; great-grandchildren, Samuel Hlavin, Emma Weekley, Lucas Tung, and Isaac Tung.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Goikich and Alice Melling.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 02, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors at 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 03, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Riddle Funeral Home. The Reverend Nick Cacciatore will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
