Hugh M. “John” Littlejohn EDNEYVILLE, N.C. — Hugh M. “John” Littlejohn, 83, of Edneyville, North Carolina, went home peacefully to be with the Lord at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Amherst, under the care of New Life Hospice, on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Edneyville, North Carolina on January 5, 1930 where he resided for most of his life having moved to Lorain in January of 2010. John had worked as a farmer and at US Steel. He was a long-time member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church in Edneyville, North Carolina where T.R. Pea was his Pastor. John enjoyed hunting, gardening, yard work, cars, and being with his family. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his daughters, Stephanie Corbin, Dawn (Perry) Carlton and Jolynn (Michael) Bracy, all of Lorain; son, Julius (Artise) Ledbetter of Salem, Virginia; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Holsey Littlejohn of Hendersonville, North Carolina; sisters, Ruth Montgomery and Nancy (Gene) McKenzie, all of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Emma Baker of Cleveland; dear friend, Rosetta Williams of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Dunlap Littlejohn; sisters, Frances and Novella Littlejohn, and Beulah Bennett; brothers, James “Bookie” Littlejohn and Marvin “Toss” Littlejohn; and by his parents, Richard and Odie (Mills) Littlejohn. Friends may call Monday, May 20, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Wyers Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Road Sheffield Township. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Edneyville, North Carolina where Pastor T.R. Pea will officiate.
