AMHERST - Joanne Barnhart (nee Golobich), age 89 and a resident of Amherst, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, after a sudden illness.
She was born in Lorain, September 29, 1922 to the late Vincent and Mary Golobich. Joanne was a graduate of Lorain High School.
In her early years, Joanne was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church, Lorain and presently was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elyria Township. She was a homemaker who took pride in her housekeeping skills. Joanne loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons; Bruce (Patti) of Amherst and Brady (Leticia) of Miamisburg, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her husband Brady (1996), sisters Mary Nemeth, Zora Penzes, Margaret Cico, and brothers Vincent and Michael Golobich.
Family will receive friends Friday, 5 - 8 p.m. at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. Closing prayers will be Saturday, 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home followed by 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Donald Dunson will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
