SHEFFIELD LAKE - John D. Urbin, 67 of Sheffield Lake formerly of Westlake and Avon Lake, passed away, unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at St. John Medical Center, Westlake. He was born September 5, 1945 in Cleveland.
John was a graduate of Lakewood High School with the chosen profession as a truck driver, a job he truly enjoyed when he worked for ECK Cartidge. He was a proud Vietnam Army
Veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 211, Avon Lake and loved his participation in the Avon Lake Baptist Church Softball League, where he was a pitcher. He also enjoyed being with family and friends.
John was the best friend and loving husband for 18 years of Lisa M. (nee Chec). He is also survived by his daughter HM1 Melissa Burke, US Navy
of Florida and son William Burke (Erika) of Streetsboro. He was the proud "Papa" of Alex and Dylan and enjoyed the role of "papa" to many others. He is also survived by siblings Robert M. II of Lumberton, N.C., Daniel, Richard (Maryann), Barbara, Vincent (Evelyn) all of Avon Lake and Leon (Janice) of Amherst. He was the brother-in-law of Joan Sinkovch (Larry) of Pulaski, PA and the loving uncle and great uncle of many. John is preceded in death by his parents Robert M. and Mabel J. (nee Snider) and sister Virginia.
