Leona Victoria Niskey Park
Leona Victoria Niskey Park, 97, went home to be with her heavenly Father September 9, 2012. She was born on October 3, 1914, in Lorain, to the late Frank Joseph and Estelle (Bash) Niskey. Leona lived all of her adult life in the Penfield community.
Mrs. Park was employed at various times outside of the home by Roper's Steakhouse in Medina and American Safety. Her chief occupation was as homemaker to her husband, children, grandchildren and her many beloved dachshunds.
Leona was an avid maker of cross-stitch creations, crochet and quilts. She also loved to travel. Mrs. Park leaves her family with many cherished memories by teaching them that Sundays were for fellowship and home cooked food with family, how to face life's adversities with resolve and uncomplaining, how to live for each moment and embracing our challenges and how to look forward to eternal life in heaven after death.
Survived by her daughter, Sally Kight of Penfield; son, Richard (Suzanne) Park of Boise, Idaho; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Everett Park; son, Kenneth Wayne Park; two brothers and six sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 14th at the Penfield Community Church, 40775 State Route 18 East, Wellington with Pastor Chris Reutepohler officiating.
Memorial if desired may be given to the Friendship Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035 or Grace Hospice, 16600 W. Sprague Rd., Cleveland, OH 44130. Words of sympathy may be expressed online at www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com.
