LORAIN - Phillip Gene Kulick, age 74, of Lorain, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at New Life Hospice Center.
Phillip was born August 4, 1939, and had been a lifelong Lorain resident. He was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1957-B, and attended Oberlin School of Commerce from 1957 to 1958.
He served 3 years active duty in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961 serving one year in Korea.
Phillip was an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance from 1981 to 1984. He was a former employee and officer in the banking world in Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties for 25 years. Most recently he was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service from 1984 to 2001. He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Phillip was a founding member of the Bachelors Club at Lorain High School in 1954. He was also a member of the NALC, a past member of the American Institute of Banking, the Data Processing Management Association, and former member of the Lorain Polka Sharps Band. Phillip was an active member and Past Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O.E Lorain Lodge # 1301, where he also served as treasurer for 28 years.
Phillip is survived by daughters Dawn L. (Robert) Green of Lorain, Deborah L. Kulick of North Ridgeville, and Denise L. (Michael) Durnell of Lorain; son Dale L. Kulick of Lorain; Grandchildren Stephanie (Yenni) Hembree and Jeffrey A. (Trisha) Yenni both of Lorain, and Christopher M. Fisher of North Ridgeville; Great-Grandchildren Austin Rivera, Alyjah Rivera, Matthew Messer, Alexis Yenni, and Jayden Yenni all of Lorain; brothers Allan A. Kulick of Middletown, Ohio, and David J. Kulick of Mansfield, Mass.; sister Toni Kulick of Washington State.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Sandra Jean (Williams) Kulick, and parents Anthony Kulick and Bernice Kulick-Hambly.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 12th from 4-8 P.M. at the Dombrowski-Riddle Funeral Home & Cremation Center 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
