Rhett Henrietta Dawson-Noble(1941-2013)

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Rhett Henrietta Dawson-Noble, formerly of Lorain, departed this life on July 9, 2013, in Oklahoma City, OK after a brief illness.
She was born September 21, 1941, in Dumas, Arkansas, to McKinley and Essie (nee Gordon) Ward and relocated to Lorain as a child with her family in 1953.
She retired from Lorain Community Hospital and moved to Oklahoma in 2005 where she worked at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City until 2010.
She was a Registered Nurse and was currently two semesters away from graduating with her master's degree at the time of her passing.
She was a member of Crossroads Cathedral Church in Oklahoma City and served in the ""Celebrate Recovery Program"" ministry.
She loved to read, decorate and travel, and her favorite pastime had become her great-grandchildren.
Rhett is survived by her mother, Essie Smith of Lorain; daughter, Arfaye Ivey of Oklahoma City OK; sons, Arell (Gita) Ivey of Antelope CA, Barry Ivey of Los Angeles CA and Anthony Ivey Sr. of Memphis TN; sisters, Leona Hawkins of Riverside CA, Shirley Marshall of Stockton CA, Emma Jean (Samuel) Spraggins of Lorain; LaJoyce Hamilton of Los Angeles CA; brothers, William M. Ward, George (Joy) Smith, Tedario (Andrea) Smith, Olvin (Michelle) Smith and James Smith, all of Lorain, Melvin Smith of Los Angeles CA, McCowsel Ward and McCormick Ward of Stockton CA; grandchildren, Meca Ivey of Melbourne FL, Tynelle (Antonio) Fuller of Oklahoma City OK, Thomas (Natalie) Braggs of El Paso TX, Kevin Riles of Long Beach CA, Antionete Ivey of Sacramento CA, Asia Ivey of Charlotte NC, Yancy Rose Ivey of Cleveland and Anthony Ivey Jr. of Memphis TN; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews and many many cousins; special friends, Andrea Smith and Nyela Jeffries of Lorain, and Dorothy and J.J. Simms of Oklahoma City OK.
Rhett is preceded in death by her father, McKinley Ward Sr.; maternal grandfather, Rev. Henry Gordon Sr.; maternal grandmother, Cleola Gordon; paternal grandfather, Cecil White; paternal grandmother, Della White; stepfather, George Smith Sr.; and sister, Jessie Mae Jamison.
Visitation will take place Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Living Word Church, 658 E Erie Ave, Lorain.
Elder Ray H Robinson Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
