HURON - Richard Ralph "Rich" Kelble, age 73, residing in Huron and Bonita Springs, Fla., and a longtime resident of Berlin Heights, died Saturday, July 5, 2014, at his residence in Huron.
He was born on July 15, 1942, in Lorain, Ohio, and graduated from Berlin High School and attended Bowling Green State University.
He was a U.S. Navy
veteran serving from 1962-1965 on the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Shangri-La.
Rich's father Ralph, and his brothers, started Kelble Brothers Meats. Richard and his father took over ownership and Richard continued to run the business for many years. He also was the owner of the Angry Bull Restaurant and the Dairy Queen in Huron.
Rich was a loyal and dedicated friend, and a mentor to many. He was a special and caring grandfather to his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa (Hopton) Kelble; daughter, Christine (Matthew) McClester, Berlin Heights; grandchildren, Rachel Huntley, Michael Huntley, Samuel McClester, and Megan (Tom) Frey; sisters, Barbara Butcher, Solon, Ohio, and Joan (Bud) Hughes, Fort Worth, Texas; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elsie (Kishman) Kelble; and a brother-in-law, Ed Butcher.
Friends may call on Monday, July 7, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South St. Berlin Heights.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m., in the Lakeview United Methodist Church, 6 South St., Berlin Heights. Rev. Dick Kretchmar will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights.
