AMHERST - Roberta Kreeger (nee: McCord), 89 years of age and a resident of Amherst passed away suddenly, Sunday, April 6, 2014, at her home.
Roberta was born April 17, 1924, in South Amherst and spent her entire lifetime in the Amherst area graduating from South Amherst High School in 1942.
She devoted her life to that of a homemaker and her family. She was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, SCOA, and TOPs. She enjoyed flower gardening and feeding birds. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and especially her great grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons and their wives Robert and Kathy Kreeger of Amherst, Ken and Kathy Kreeger of Grafton, and Jack and Lori Kreeger of LaGrange, eight grandchildren - Jennifer (Brian) Redenshek, Michael (Jenna) Kreeger, Erik (Rachel) Kreeger, Greg Kreeger, Kevin (Tiffany) Kreeger, Angie (Alan) Lyczkowski, Daniel (Crystal) Kreeger, and Erika Kreeger, and eleven great grandchildren; and her niece Gayle Donelson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 1976; her sisters Ruth McCord and Gwen Eslinger, and Florence McCord.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m from the funeral home. The Rev. David Plant, of St. Peter United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst, Ohio.
