William J. "Big Bill" Golobich
Lorain - William J. "Big Bill" Golobich, 63, of Lorain, died Saturday March 15, 2014 in the intensive care unit at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain after a short illness.
He was born February 8, 1951 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Bill graduated from Lorain High School and worked in the 3 Seamless Mill at US Steel/Republic Steel in Lorain before retiring.
He enjoyed golf, billiards, reading and crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his sisters Diane (James) Pollack of Elyria, Gail (Paul) Georgio of Parma, Patty Golobich of Lorain, Mary Jo Zigmund of Pennsylvania, Kathy (Dave) Davis of Tampa, Florida, Debbie Golobich of Elyria and Donna Golobich of Lorain, brothers Robert Golobich of Elyria and Michael Golobich of Lorain and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Michael J. & Rose Marie Golobich (nee Jacovetti).
The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Robert Glepko, pastor of Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
