VERMILION - Gilbert Eugene (Shotgun) Seth, 89, of Vermilion, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Mill Manor Nursing Home after a short illness. |
Gilbert was born September 18, 1923 in Clay Township, Ohio. He had been a Vermilion resident for the past 55 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving during WWII.
Gilbert worked for Ford Automotive Plant as a Paint Mixer for 30 years and had also worked at US Steel and the Ship Yard. He was a life member of the Vermilion V.F.W. Post 7576.
He is survived by his sons, Charles Michael Seth of Vermilion, Richard Leon (Chantorn) Seth of Vermilion, and Anthony Wayne Seth of Lubbock, Texas; daughter, Susann (Tim) Ray of South Amherst; 5 grandchildren, Pawn, Elaine, Brannon, Ana, and Lauren; and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Evelyn Seth (nee Lemaster) on April 23, 2013; grandchildren, Jason and Jonathon Seth; great-grandchild, Aramys; and his parents, Delver and Minnie Victoria (nee Runyon) Seth.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Lee Stull will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion, where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
