Harold A. Beckloff Obituary
ELYRIA - Harold A. Beckloff, 93, of Elyria, died November 15, 2013, at the home of his daughter in Ashland.
He was born October 21, 1920, in Elyria, and was a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II serving in New Guinea, Philippines and Okinawa.
Harold was employed for 21 years as a diesel mechanic by Lyons Transportation before retiring in 1983 as garage supervisor. He was a life member of Elyria V.F.W. Post 1079, Elyria American Legion Post 12, The National Rifle Association and Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He had traveled throughout 46 states and until recently was bowling in several leagues.
Harold is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Anthony) Carpinelli of Cape Coral, Fla., and Laura (Mike) Potts of Ashland; son, Allan Forrest of Elyria; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Allen Beckloff of North Ridgeville and sister, Marguerite Rothgery of Jonesboro, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Gloria and Mary "Ellie"; sons, Richard Beckloff and Thomas Beckloff; daughter-in-law, Joy; and brothers, Norman, Robert and Kenneth Beckloff.
Friends will be received Monday, November 18, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Tuesday November 19, 2013, at 9:30 AM in the funeral home with the Reverend Janet A. Long officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
