In Loving Memory of Elder Hayes M. Chaffins who passed away on October 7, 2012.

Brother Hayes was such a worker for the Lord. He was always reaching out with love to both the saved and unsaved. The Pleasant View church cannot be the same with out him.We will all miss the things he often said to us personally and during his preaching. He would ask for more time.He would say we should not sit around and look like we have eaten sour apples. He would tell everyone they made the church look better and if they came out to the church and had dinner with us, he would say they made the chicken taste better and he was right.he would tell us " The Lord wants you to take some time to rest".He would remind us that the Lord himself took time to get away and rest a little. Bro Hayes had not been doing well for awhile and we all began to worry but God knows best and we know Bro Hayes is now resting with the Lord in paradise. We all loved brother Hayes and he loved us. We will see him again and it will not be long until most of us will be resting with the Lord also. In-Christ Bro. Larry& Sis. Patsy Newsome

I meet Mr. Chaffins in 1980 and over the years grew to really like and respect him. I found him to be a very good Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart and mind. He was a good preacher and alway talked to people about the Lord and asked everyone he meet to visit his church. I know that Hayes and Jesus are having a great time visiting and I am sure he and Paul will spend a long time visiting. He will be missed here on earth but heaven just got a great man. John M. Reiutz
