James L. Rundell Obituary
VERMILION - James L. Rundell, 65, of Vermilion, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
James was born in Amherst and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 30 years.
He was a veteran of the Army and served in Vietnam. He was very proud to have served his country.
James was a utility assembler at the Lorain Ford Plant and retired after 30 years of service.
He was a member of The Chapel in Sandusky. He loved his church, and had a very strong faith. James enjoyed square dancing, and was a member of the Fads Square Dance Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and walking in the woods with his black lab Shawna. He also enjoyed playing guitar with his brother-in-law Larry Capucini.
On December 29, 1983, James married Dianne (nee Matt) and she survives. Also surviving are daughters, Danielle Rundell of Columbus and her children Paris, Anthony, Ariana, Kanye, and Natalyia, and grandchildren Niyonna, and Carina, and Misti (Terry) Oliver of Lorain and her children Eric, and Amber, and grandchildren Olivia, and Arabella; step-daughter Tamara Didion (William Haught) of Amherst, and her son Brandon; step-son Dennis Bickley of Vermilion, and his daughter Kyra; brothers Jerald (Reva) Rundell of Texas, Duane (Susan) Rundell of Lorain, and Chuck (Debbie) Rundell of Georgia; sister Martha (Tony) Hoyt of Wellington; sisters-in-law Charlene (Leroy) Weigel of Texas, and Sue (Larry Capucini) Matt of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Francis (nee Henceroth).
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3rd from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 am at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Rd., Sandusky, OH 440870. Pastor Dave Brown will officiate. Interment will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron where the Amherst Military Honor Guard will conduct military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in James's memory to Back to the Wild, P.O. Box 423, Castalia, OH 44824.
