Brant Gregory Isaly-Johns Obituary
AVON LAKE - Brant Gregory Isaly-Johns, 23, of Avon Lake, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 26, 2013 due to complications of Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II.
Brant was born, June 14, 1990 in Marion, Ohio. He spent the first six years of his life in Seattle, Washington. During these years, he spent summers in Southeast Alaska. In 1996, his family moved to Avon Lake.
He was a 2009 graduate of Avon Lake High School where he was an active member of the Key Club and enjoyed working for the Avon Lake High School athletic department. Brant was a senior at Wright State University, Dayton where he was studying Business Marketing and Management. His family described him as having a wonderful sense of humor and an ability to live each day to the fullest. His family and friends were the most integral part of his life. He was a fan of all sports but was most passionate for the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners, the Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Brant also enjoyed fishing with his dad and brothers and was a huge country music fan.
Brant will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched but mostly by his family including his parents Melissa Isaly-Johns and Les Johns; brothers Hans E. Isaly –Johns of Lorain and Stefan G. Isaly-Johns of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; grandmothers Nancy Isaly and Justna Johns; aunts and uncles Deborah Isaly van Dommelen, Lorraine Isaly Barker, Greg Johns, Jr., Deborah Head, Lee Johns and Steve Johns. He is also survived by many cousins.
He is preceded in death by grandfathers John Isaly and Greg Johns, Sr. and Aunt Cynthia Isaly.
Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake on Thursday, October 31 from 2-4 p.m. and 5:30-9 p.m. The Memorial service will at the Bay Presbyterian Church, 25415 Lake Road, Bay Village, Friday, November 1 at 11 a.m. Reverends Dan Edgerly of Bay Presbyterian and Jeanne Gay of Firelands Presbyterian Churches will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be forwarded to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 7050 Engle Rd Cleveland, OH 44130 or to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, 11100 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, 44106.
