VERMILION - Carl L. Alten, 53, of Vermilion, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Mercy Hospital, Lorain after a 2 year illness. |
Carl was born February 11, 1960 in Amherst. He had been a lifelong Lorain resident.
He owned and operated Cherokee Tree Service and also worked as a mechanic.
He attended the Church of God Prophecy, Vermilion and enjoyed riding motorcycles, TV Westerns and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Hollie Alten of Vermilion; sons, Brian and Carl (Jessica) Alten both of Dayton, Bobby and William (Hayley) Alten both of Sandusky, Timothy (Kylie) Alten of Vermilion; daughters, Crystal and Angela Alten both of Vermilion; stepdaughter, Sara Young of Vermilion; 4 grandchildren; sister, Mary Murillo of Byhalia, Mississippi; and his mother, Jean Cody of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Alten and son, Matthew.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion, Ohio. Funeral services will be Friday, September 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Reverend Bishop Joseph H. Newberry, will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
