Catherine M. Watson (nee Wehrle), 89 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a brief illness.
She was born April 20, 1928, in Blakeslee, Ohio. Catherine was raised in Edgerton, Ohio before moving to Amherst in 1952 where she had resided until her passing. She was a graduate of Edgerton High School as well as Ft. Wayne Business College.
Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker. Catherine worked along-side her husband, Denver, in his Chiropractic office as the office assistant. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. Catherine was an excellent baker and cook, and always welcomed a new family to the neighborhood with a baked item. Her German pot roast, warm German potato salad, German chocolate cake, ground cherry pie, and baked apples were her specialty dishes, but a family gathering was not complete without Grandma's cold potato salad. Her hobbies included playing euchre and checkers with her family, as well as shopping at antique stores and flea markets. Her greatest joys were family gatherings and her grandchildren's events.
Among those who will cherish Catherine's memory are her sons, Ronald C. Watson, D.C. (Terri) of Amherst, Larry G. Watson (Toni) of Hudson, Garry M. Watson (Diana) of Lorain, and Gerry J. Watson of Gahanna, Ohio; her daughters, Barbara A. Zavodny (Gary) of Amherst and Sandra K. Graham (Jim) of South Amherst; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren with one on the way; and her sister, Juanita Herman of Massachusetts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Denver Franklin Watson, D.C., on July 13, 1998; her son, Donald Lee Watson in 1952; her brother, Robert Wehrle; her sister, Harriet Schrage; and her parents, Ambrose and Viola Wehrle (nee Goebel).

Dear Ron, Barb, SanDee, Garry, Larry, Gerry and Family's,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Catherine. I will keep you in prayer as you work your way through the difficult days ahead.
I have so many great memories of times with both your parents during the years I worked for Drs. Denver and Ron. I recall lunches at Oberlin Inn, Birthday Parties, staying with all of you while your folks attended seminars. Friday's were always filled with stories of what they did on Thursday when the office was closed. Usually antiquing and dinner at a wonderful restaurant. Probably most of you didn't know Catherine and I had a few Happy Hour's together when she was living at Amherst Manor. All my fault.
You are all in my heart and prayers during these days and always. Love, Jane

Our family enjoyed so much Catherine, as we visited our mother at the Amherst Manor. Played games, ate meals with her and fun conversations. Especially her smile and soft voice. I enjoyed going out to eat with her and talking about family and friends. We have nice memories. Nora Feltner and Randy and Pam Edwards.
