VERMILION - Charles H. Dobias, 79, of Vermilion, died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Kingston of Vermilion after a 6 month illness.
Charles was born June 13, 1934 in Lorain, Ohio, and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 50 years.
He was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Charles worked as a supervisor for Ohio Edison at the Edgewater Plant in Lorain, retiring after 35 years.
He was a member of United Church of Christ Congregational, Vermilion and AMVETS Post #22.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Marcia (nee Sidlo) Dobias; sons, Donald (Diane) Dobias of Wooster, John Dobias of Norwalk, and Jim (Sonya) Dobias of Greenwich; step son, Michael (Georgianne) Sopko of Brunswick and Steven Sopko of Brunswick; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and sisters, Diane Szatala of Parma, Margaret Bolin of Lorain, and, Lois Stone of Pascagoula, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret (nee Zoro) Dobias and a sister, Joyce.
Private family services were held.
