Christine "Crissy" (Scheel) Winchester Obituary
AVON LAKE - Christine "Crissy" Winchester (nee Scheel), 64 a life time resident of Avon Lake passed away Saturday February 18, 2012 following a short illness.
She was born in Lakewood February 3, 1948 and was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. Crissy was a 1966 graduate of Avon Lake High School, she was an Associate Member of American Legion Post 211, Avon Lake. She was a gifted flower gardener and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with her husband.
Crissy is survived by her husband Robert J. Winchester; the high school sweethearts were married April 22, 1967. Other survivors include three daughters Callie Smith of Rocky River, Melissa Winchester of Colorado and Megan Milner (Matthew) of Fairview Park. She is also survived by three grandchildren Cassie and Andrew Smith and Amelia Milner and two sisters Kathleen Szekely (Lester) and Laurel Scheel both of Rocky River.
She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary (nee Subers) Scheel and a brother Robert Scheel.
A Memorial Mass will be Thursday, February 23, at the Holy Spirit Church, 410 Lear Rd., Avon Lake at 10:30am. Fr. James H. Beatty of the Church will officiate. Friends may call at church from 10:00am until the service. The family will host a reception Thursday from 3:00-7:00pm at the Lake House, 32756 Lake Rd., Veterans Park, Avon Lake.
