Coletta M. (Zellers) Hiles Obituary
AMHERST - Coletta M. Hiles (nee Zellers) age 97 and a resident of Amherst, beloved mother of Bernie Wilczak, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, after a brief illness.
She was born October 12, 1914 in Grindstone, Pennsylvania and resided in Pennsylvania until moving to Amherst in 2004 to live with her daughter Bernie, who was her caregiver. While residing in Amherst, Coletta was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
During her life, Coletta was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting. She will be most remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who always had a beautiful smile for everyone.
Survivors include her daughter Bernadine Wilczak of Amherst, two grandchildren, Kevin Wilczak of Amherst and Kimberly Wilczak of South Amherst, three great grandchildren, Zachary Wilczak, James and Lee Ann Barnett, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years George D. Hiles (1967), a son Leonard Hiles (2004), her brothers Bernard and Leonard Hiles, and sisters Regina Poyle and Leona Hiles.
Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst, Tuesday 5 - 8 p.m. Closing prayers will be recited at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Wednesday followed by 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, in Brier Hill, Pennsylvania.
