Dale S. Kulchar, age 62 of Athens died unexpectedly, early Saturday morning, Dec. 8, 2012 at his home. Born June 27, 1950 in Lorain, he was the son of the late John J. & Elizabeth Sarkany Kulchar.
A 1968 graduate of Lorain High School and a 1973 graduate of Ohio University, he retired from Athens County Jobs and Family Services as a seek work coordinator. He had also been employed with Lorain County Children's Service and Hocking County Children's Services as an investigator.
One of his passions was music. He had played the guitar and entertained at the Red Brick Tavern, O.U. Inn, and Rhapsodies in Nelsonville. He was coordinator of the Open Stage at the Court Grill in Pomeroy. He had also been the praise and worship leader at The Celebration Center. He was active with youth sports and a supporter of the Athens Youth Hockey League while his son was growing up.
Dale is survived by his son, John Seth Kulchar of Athens and his companion, Cassie Clelend; a cousin, Richard (Linda) Kerr of Morgantown, WV; and many, many friends including, Nina & Marty O'Leary of Albany and Tom Cangemi of Nelsonville and his fellow musician good friends- Dennis Wolfe, John Kirk and Chad Dotson
A funeral service will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Pastor Chad Dotson officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the
