David Lee Lighty LORAIN — David Lee Lighty, 56, of Lorain, transitioned from this earthly life unexpectedly on April 19, 2013.
He was born in Lorain, Ohio on March 21, 1957 and grew up between Lorain and Philadelphia. He attended Clearview High School where he excelled in basketball and track. He was employed by USS Kobe for several years and enjoyed visiting local churches. In his free time he liked to ride his bike (Horse), watch movies, and spend time with his family.
David leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carol Lighty; two children, David West of Elyria and Rosalind (Lighty) Bonilla of North Carolina; his beloved sisters, Shirley Lighty, Denise (Roy) Brantford, Darlene Lighty, Deborah “Debbie” Lighty; stepmother, Shirley E. Lighty of Lorain; stepsister, Zelma (Nate) Johnson; stepbrothers, Timothy Patrick Wayne Monroe, Butch Miller and Kevin McDaniel; nine grandchildren; a special aunt, Cora Anderson; many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Damon Lamont (Wilson) Lighty (1978), mother, Louise Lighty (1991); father, Jake Lighty Sr. (1997); and brothers, James “Governor” Lighty (1993) and Jake Lighty Jr. (2011).
Visitation will be held from 10am until time of funeral service at 12 noon on Saturday April 27, 2013 at Brown Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway Ave, Lorain OH 44052.
