Dolores Mildred "Dee" (Syrowski) Meyers Obituary
Dolores "Dee" Mildred Meyers (nee: Syrowski), 80 years of age, and a lifetime resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Amherst Manor following a lengthy illness.
Dee was born June 21, 1937, at her childhood home in Amherst and graduated with the class of 1956 from South Amherst High School.
Dee was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst where she taught CCD and PSR classes. She served as a deputy clerk for Oberlin Municipal Court for 10 years. By far her greatest passion was that of being a stay-at-home mom. She loved being a homemaker as well as baking, crocheting, flower gardening, and praying. She enjoyed being involved in her children's and grandchildren's events.
Survivors include her children: Gregory Meyers of Amherst, Jeffrey (Carol) Meyers of Lorain, Ann (Larry) Foglyano of Amherst, Stephanie (Joe) Waryu of Amherst; her daughter-in-law, Gina Meyers of Amherst; twelve grandchildren; seven great granchildren; and her sisters, Louise Meyers of Amherst and Mary Ann Belcher of Elyria.
Dee was preceded in death on January 18 of this year by her beloved husband of sixty-one years, Keith Meyers; her son, Anthony "Tony" Meyers in 2012; her brothers, Arthur and John Syrowski; her sisters, Genevieve Moesher and Virginia Reed; and her parents, Stephen and Mary Ann Syrowski (nee: Borowicz).
Friends may call Monday, March 12, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst OH 44001. The Rev. Fr. Timothy O'Connor will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst, Ohio.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Joseph Vincentian Fund, at the above address.
